What is the retake policy for the cfa level 2 exam?

The CFA Institute only allows candidates to take an exam every 6 months, so the earliest you can retake it is 6 months after the original date of the Level II exam. If you don't pass Level III in your six attempts, that means you'll spend 4 to 5 years taking the exams non-stop. I think that last year, the 250,000 examined were the largest number in history and, therefore, the CFA is limiting the number of attempts.
